 Parades - Parade & Rally 2006
The AJEX National Commemoration and Rally
In bright sunlight on a pleasant November afternoon Jewish ex-servicemen and women together with their supporters and well-wishers gathered on Horse guards Parade, and marched to the Cenotaph for a service led by the Chief Rabbi, with Rabbi Harry Jacobi MBE and Rev; Malcolm Weisman participating, to remember those of our faith who had served and died in defence of the United Kingdom.

This year was a boisterous occasion added to by the inclusion of many youth groups , including B`nei Akiva, Scouts, Guides, Maccabi and others, and of course the Jewish Lads and Girls Brigade, who performed their official duties with care and precision.

We were heartened to see our President Major Edmund de Rothschild at his usual position, both at the Cenotaph and on the dais for the march past accompanied by the reviewing Officer Major General Paul Newton CBE Mphil and our National Chairman Mr Harold Newman

   The Event
Over 1800 people participated in the Commemoration which was an increase in numbers on last years figure, helped no doubt by the clement weather.

We were delighted to see our comrades from our sister organisations from the USA, France, Israel, Gibraltar .Canada And other places, on parade with us. and our branches from all over the country were well represented...

It was heartening to see more ex-national servicemen present, some, for the first time, and also men, women and young people wearing relative?s decorations on the right hand side of their jackets, marching with the veterans
