The Event
After last year's superb commemoration ceremony which marked the 60th anniversary of the end of WW2, it was difficult to see how this year could compare.
It not only compared, but to many in the audience, it surpassed it.
The Yad Vashem UK Foundation changed the format of the event, using the phrase "Remembering the past, shaping the future".
It also introduced the initiative to become
"A guardian of the memory of one victim".
They also involved the youth in a far more direct manner, and for the first time a woman, Dr Rosalind Gelbart, was one of the speakers
In an important speech, the National Chairman of AJEX, Mr Harold Newman, pledged the support of the association. He said that through the auspices of the Jewish Military Museum its education programme would encourage the youth
