Ways To Help

We would be delighted if you were able to support AJEX financially. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us deliver vital work across our three pillars of Welfare, Remembrance and Education. We are busy adapting the charity to the demands presented by our new generations and at the same time having to accept the inevitable decline of our WW2 and National Service veterans – our traditional support base. What remains of vital importance is the role AJEX has in ensuring we do not forget the sacrifices of the past. We know, perhaps now more than ever, the importance of communicating the positive contribution played by Jews in the in the Service of the Crown over the past 300 years. Anti-Semitism is again on the rise and AJEX has a part to play in fighting this disease. Our remembrance work focuses on engaging with people from within our own community as well as with the broader non-Jewish community. Remembrance work dovetails neatly into our education programme, which again is inter-faith focused. As our veteran community gets smaller the task of educating and motivating a new generation to positively engage in remembrance becomes harder and ever more important. Your donations will go to support Education, Remembrance and the Welfare needs of our British Jewish veteran and serving community. You can help us in numerous ways:

  • Become a member of AJEX. This cost £30 per annum.

  • Click donate now on the homepage and make a one-off or regular payment.

  • Leave us a Legacy in your Will. We can provide advice and support if you would like more information.

  • Join our 100@£1000 campaign. The aim is to get 100 people to pledge £1000 each

Leaving AJEX a Legacy

Leaving a legacy to AJEX (or any charity/charities) is a wonderful thing to do. Legacies are responsible for over 90% of AJEX’s funding. Leaving a legacy is the single best way to ensure AJEX can carry out its vital work. Without legacy donations the AJEX Annual Ceremony and Parade on Whitehall in November would not be possible as the event cost approximately £50k annually. We appreciate both making the decision to leave a legacy, and then acting upon your decision it isn’t a quick or simple task. Legacies and bequests can be complex and confusing (we’re told its simple but we’re yet to be convinced)! We have launched a mentoring programme whereby we will help you navigate through the system. We now offer a free Will writing and free codicil writing service if you would like support. However, we are just as happy (if not happier) to direct you towards someone externally and completely independent who can help you. Another significant advantage of leaving a legacy is that you receive a significant tax break which benefits your family and the charities you’ve chosen to support. The tax break is relatively simple to explain and we can do so by phone or email.

For more information please contact either the AJEX Chief Executive (danny.yank@ajex.org.uk) or head office (headoffice@ajex.org.uk (tel 0208 202 2323) and we’ll get you in touch with our team of Legacy mentors.
