We were honoured that our Patrons Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis KBE, Sir Lloyd Dorfman CBE and Robert Voss CBE CStJ, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire attended the Coronation and that the Chief Rabbi had such a prominent role in the proceedings. We were also delighted to hear about some of the many local celebrations that took place which our members were part of from Street Parties to Coronation Kiddushes and lunches. Mike Bluestone, AJEX Vice Chair and Trustee, attended the Mayor of Brent’s Coronation Lunch hosted by the Mayor of Brent, Cllr Abdi Aden. Commenting he said: "I was delighted to represent AJEX JMA at the Mayor of Brent’s Coronation lunch last Sunday. I was honoured to be seated at Mayor Aden’s table and thrilled to note that everyone I chatted with including Mayor Aden, Barry Gardiner MP, Deputy Lieutenant Mei Sim Lai, and Cllr Rob Johnson were all aware of our important work on behalf of Jewish veterans. A thoroughly enjoyable and positive event to celebrate His Majesty the King’s coronation’.
Fiona Palmer, Chief Executive of AJEX JMA was also honoured to attend a Special Service marking the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Thank you to The Board of Deputies of British Jews, The Jewish Leadership Council and The S&P Sephardi Community for a beautiful service in the wonderful Bevis Marks Synagogue.
