"Yom Ha’Shoah is a day not just of sacred memories, but of ensuring that the lessons the world must take from the Nazi genocide of the Jews do not fade as the years stretch away. Jews were the main victims of that persecution but also central to resisting it and fighting the war which ended it. On Yom Ha’Shoah, we remember what was lost but also what emerged from the destruction, and as we mourn, we take great pride, too.” Dan Fox, AJEX JMA National Chairman.
Chief Executive, Fiona Palmer and Lucy Godfrey from AJEX JMA were at the Holocaust Survivors Centre for their Yom HaShoah commemoration with reflections and candle lighting.
"We joined in lighting yellow candles in memory of those who were murdered and heard poignant thoughts from some of the inspiring survivors. Hearing the memorial prayer in these surroundings was particularly moving".
